Let Us Fight for the Money You Deserve!
Have you or a family member experienced respiratory illness, mold-related symptoms, or property damage after using a Keystone window air conditioner? In June 2025, a major product recall was issued for Keystone-branded U and U+ window AC units manufactured by Midea. These air conditioners may accumulate standing water, leading to mold growth inside the unit. The mold may then be dispersed into the home through the air system, potentially causing serious health risks.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on June 5, 2025. It affects over 1.7 million Midea-manufactured U and U+ air conditioners, including models sold under the Keystone brand. These units may not drain water properly, creating an environment for mold to grow inside the appliance.
Once the unit is used, it can blow mold spores into the living space, placing consumers at risk of inhalation and contamination. Mold exposure may cause or aggravate serious health conditions, especially in vulnerable individuals.
The affected Keystone air conditioner models include:
These models range in cooling capacity from 8,000 to 12,000 BTUs and were sold at major retailers like Home Depot, Menards, Amazon, Walmart, and Costco between March 2020 and May 2025.
To identify your unit, locate the model number printed on the front right-hand side when facing the AC.
